Hello, this is Nakamura from Among.
I took a picture of the site at a textile dyeing factory! Amang fabrics are dyed at this factory in Yokohama. We use two methods of dyeing: ``textile printing'' (pronounced nassen) and ``inkjet manufacturing''.
The textile printing we will be introducing today is a local industry in Yokohama. Although the number of factories has already decreased dramatically, we still dye fabrics in this way! So, I would like to tell you about the situation at the scene~ 👏 Crackling
Well then. I'm dyeing it.
This is a familiar rice pattern. Actually, there are minor changes. It was born after discussing various things with Kaneko last winter. Good vibes~~~. (The color may look different from the actual color due to the photo.)
Click here for the rice pattern scarf. It would be super cute to wear with a white T-shirt and straw hat in early summer ♫
And spices. Wow, that's very emotional.
There is also a bag with the spice pattern (this is a medium-sized tote that can fit A4 sheets).
The reason why I haven't been able to take photos like this until now is because every time I place an order, it's just before the delivery deadline. Factory, I'm sorry!
``I want it delivered as soon as possible.'' → Please fill in the empty space and dye it → ``Wow, I made it on time, thank you!''
That was the behind the scenes story (sweat).
My experience points are increasing little by little, so I'll stop worrying about the last minute! That's the determination. And due to the coronavirus pandemic, I had more free time (→In the end, this was the main reason).
So, I was able to take a photo this time. There are still some white spots. White pepper lol. After this, it becomes black pepper ♫
↓ This long stand is called a ``Nasensen stand''. It's about 25m. Put the white fabric on it. This is extremely difficult(ish). Just thinking about sticking it straight so that the warp and weft of the fabric are perpendicular makes it impossible. It seems that the silk modal that Amang uses for stoles and scarves is especially difficult! (For example, this 13,000 yen scarf is made of silk modal.)
Since it is soft, it seems that even the slightest amount of tension will cause it to warp.
That's right. I always have a hard time with product inspection. It is also difficult to simply refold an expanded stall. I would like to write about this somewhere again.
The color is the specified color that was mixed and made. I mix the colors and make it every time.
↓ Mix in mg units! I feel faint.
Next, place plates with different patterns and add different colors.
The size of this mold is determined by the pattern. If the mold is too small, the number of printings will increase, making the work difficult, and even if the mold is large, it will be heavy and expensive.
In the case of Amang, the pattern is large, so it will inevitably be larger. The size is approximately 120cm x 80-90cm.
I think it's really physical work to move this thing and go back and forth many times. And it's hot on site! ! In the summer it's a sauna.
It is also an amazing technique to apply the same pressure on both hands and maintain the same tone from beginning to end. Of course, if the amount and pressure of color is different, the way the color comes in will change.
Thank you very much to all the craftsmen!
And here it is ↓ If you look at the motif close up, you can see that it has a border-like border all around it. That's where the versions overlap. This is the source of its charm! ! That's why the colors have depth.
Once you have finished using the mold, wash it in a jar and store it. It also appears when dyeing another color. (The same mold can be reused over and over again by changing materials and colors.)
This is the dyeing process.
After this, it is steamed to fix the color. It's also strange that the color stays fixed when steamed at high temperatures.
The fabric is washed, ironed with a giant iron, and rolled to complete the fabric. →I wrote it roughly! lol.
Ah, it's been a long road! ! This is how things are made. It's really interesting to know what's behind the scenes. It takes shape little by little with the help of various people.
I will also do a factory report!
See you soon~~
