I LOVE Izu/Shimoda.
I've been there many times and went again the other day.
So, let's go on a trip to Shimoda!
When you get off at Izukyu Shimoda Station, you will be greeted by a black ship.

This is Hofukuji Temple.
This is the place where Katsu Kaishu escaped from the domain and rescued Ryoma who was being chased.

The accommodation is Pension Bondi.
I had a part-time job there a few years ago, and I always come here when I go to Shimoda.
Mom is wonderful.

Sand Ski Resort is located about 20 minutes walk from Bondi.
Due to the forces of nature, it has become like a sandy ski resort with a slope of 30 degrees (!).

Next to it is Ryugu Cave.
It's very friendly and famous as a power spot (apparently).

The hot spring water here is also sold in plastic bottles at Natural Lawson.
It's melty and very delicious.
Uehara Museum of Modern Art is located near Kannon Onsen.
It's a small museum, but it had a nice collection!
Enjoy paintings by Redon, Sotaro Yasui, Seiki Kuroda and others in the midst of nature. What a luxury.
It's also perfect for cleaning your soul.
