AMONG 新横浜 店舗入り口

From the night before opening to the first day

On Friday, July 3, 2026, an AMONG store opened at the Shin-Yokohama Food Center.

It's on the first floor.
Next door is a greengrocer.

Let's go inside!

Shelves have been installed in the previously empty space. It's starting to look like a shop!

The plaster was applied while building up arm muscles.
The plaster has a nice, rustic feel. Please overlook the fine details.

We kept the iron pillars as they were.

Since they're magnetic, we can freely change the display.
It's one of the unique charms of this place, where an old building was renovated while improving its earthquake resistance.

A precious table made by a craftsman.
The substantial feel of a single slab of wood. I'm glad it fit perfectly!

The days leading up to the opening flew by.

Sho-pee, who has improved his DIY (or rather, carpentry) skills.

This photo was taken 4 days before the opening.

The day before opening.
After buying necessary items and preparing items for display,
I noticed it was already evening.

From 6 PM, there was a regular meeting with the members who have shops at the Shin-Yokohama Food Center.

Everyone was so friendly, and even though it was our first time meeting, it felt as comfortable as a family gathering.
(The photo is from the get-together. Only a small portion of people are shown.)

We talked about cleaning and how to use the shared spaces, and

"We should make a free paper to introduce this place,"

ideas like that came up.

The casual atmosphere where we could talk freely was very comfortable.

Oh, I realized it was already 8 PM.

Now to finish one more shelf board, do a big clean, and then open tomorrow.

Terrifying!

First, let's get some food.
While eating curry I bought at the nearby 'My Basket', Kae-san from "Fukumimi Kimchi", which is opening on the same first floor, took a photo of me.

Since there was still work for the next day, I finished up at 10:30 PM and went home.

"I've set up so many times before, I can do it in two hours!"

Telling myself that, I started displaying at 10 AM on the day of the opening.

The fitting room curtains weren't up yet, and the sign was still to come.

Even so, the most important thing is to have a good start on July 3rd, the day we decided to open.

Even though I hadn't properly announced it yet, I was very happy that people came to visit right away. Thank you!

Shin-Yokohama Station is a Shinkansen stop, and Yokohama Arena is right nearby.

It's also an easy place for people going to Nissan Stadium to stop by.

Our business hours are:

Weekdays & Saturdays: 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Sundays & Holidays: 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM

For now, our regular holidays will be Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

There will be some changes due to pop-up events and such, so we will announce them in the monthly calendar.

Here is the July business calendar.

The Shin-Yokohama Food Center is a very unique and interesting building.
I'd like to introduce its charm in more detail in the next blog post.

If you're in the area, please feel free to stop by.

We look forward to seeing you.
