縫製現場からこんにちは!

Hello from the sewing site!

It's stormy weather in Yokohama today. How are you all doing? Today, I would like to report on the sewing process for scarves and stoles.

Once again, AMONG textiles are dyed in Yokohama. Click here for details → We will deliver it from the site! This is how the fabric is dyed

I would like to follow the fabric that was created in this way and its aftermath. Real social studies tour for adults!

The last time I visited was in March of this year, during a pop-up event (seeing far away...). There was a big storm on this day too.

Suddenly, there is a sewing company in a residential area in the suburbs. This is where the edges of scarves, stoles, and handkerchiefs are sewn.

It's sudden, but it feels like this. Sorry for not being able to convey it in the video. This is me sewing the edge of the scarf. Amazing speed.

The fabric arrives at the sewing factory with a length of approximately 23m and a width of approximately 110cm.

I thought I would first cut it to the size of the stole or scarf (rectangle or square) and then sew it all around. But it was different!

First, sew the long side at 23m.

Then, it is cut to the size of a stole or scarf (180cm long for a stole, 107cm long for a scarf). Then, sew the cut side edges.

Hold the edge of the fabric with your hands and sew with the sewing machine while rolling it up. It seemed easy to move, but I could never do it...

Moreover, the fabric used to make the scarf is thin and delicate. Especially when you talk about how difficult silk rayon fabric is to handle! ! It's soft, frays easily, and is squishy. It is said to be a very difficult fabric to sew.

Thin thread! ! The white one is used for sewing.

The black one is common sewing thread. Less than half! I am convinced that just passing it through the hole of a sewing machine needle is a difficult skill for me.

Huge stock of yarn.

After that, you will be given an AMONG name tag. Hand stitched here. Until I started AMONG, I had never thought about people tagging people or what goes on behind the scenes.

These days I realize the power of being steady.

Next, iron the fabric while checking to make sure there are no defects. (*If a defect is found here, we will ask the dyeing factory to fix it depending on the situation. Items that cannot be fixed are sold at a small discount at AMONG pop-ups etc.)

This is an ironing board. It's the size you'd find at a dry cleaning shop. When you step on the black area under the table, the table itself has a mechanism that sucks air, just like a vacuum cleaner, and the heat and steam from the iron is instantly sucked in. Therefore, the fabric does not get hot at all even after ironing.

Heeeeeeeee!

I was allowed to iron it. Seriously! Iron is heavy!

After ironing, the next step is meter reading (pronounced kenshin). Have you ever heard of a needle detection machine? ?

It would be dangerous if there were pieces of broken needles mixed in with the fabric, so we test it using a needle detector (essentially a metal detector). If metal is mixed, a buzzer will sound to let you know.

By the way, when selling at a department store, there is a document stating whether the product has been inspected using a needle inspection machine. I started without knowing this, but I'm really glad I found a good factory.

This is how the stole scarf is finally completed! Crackling crackling.

After shooting, go to a nearby cafe? Take a break. I love wearing masks . This is a pattern called "Fish out of Water."

In this way, the product finally reaches AMONG's hands.

"Wow! It's here!! How is it?!?!" I was so excited when I opened it ♫

The stole on the left of the photo is `` Kanna_Sunshine'' and the stole below is ``Strata_Moment.''

Oh, just today, the sold out "Kanna_Sunshine_Cotton Scarf" is back in stock! Click here for the online shop. This color is also quite nice.

Once you confirm that the number of items matches the delivery note, you're done. Not lol.

Inspection by AMONG starts here! Once again, I would like to write about how the product is inspected.

No, but... it's been a long time since I started drawing on paper!

Even in the things we use casually, there are processes and ingenuity that are invisible to the naked eye. It's amazing how many different people are working on it.

I think it's simple.

It's interesting to know the behind-the-scenes aspects of how something is made. We would also like to introduce various production sites◎(Nakamura)
