バリ島で「木の食器」買い付けるまで!その1

Until I bought “wooden tableware” in Bali! Part 1

Ah~~~ I want to go abroad soon~!

I guess it's Bali after all! Shall we go? ! ? !

Let's go, let's go! !

This year, such conversations between myself (Nakamura) and my husband have increased.

On a personal note, I got married around the same time as the coronavirus (March 2020), and just before that, in February, we went to Bali for the first time.

At that time, I took the rice pattern "Oishiine!" stole with me . This is definitely a big hit!

Bali is a place my husband has always dreamed of going to, and I've never been there either, so we made the decision without hesitation.

At that time, I had no idea that the coronavirus would change the world so much, and the number of tourists from China had dropped to zero. Everywhere is empty, maybe it's good timing! ? He said so casually.

Needless to say, just a week or two later, Japan (or rather the rest of the world) entered a period where travel was prohibited.

During the self-restraint period, I went on fantasy trips by watching YouTube videos of Bali, reading books, and guidebooks such as ``How to Walk Around the Earth.'' It was a valuable experience, so I'm glad I went that time! I thought that many times.

AMONG's pouch is also perfect for putting a charger ◎

And this July. The timing coincided with the time when the pop-up business was calming down and my husband was able to take a long break from work.

Okay! now!

Let's go as far as we can!

So, I went to Bali from July 3rd to 14th.

A mini shoulder bag that leaves both hands free is a must-have for traveling! This is a "fish out of water" pattern . I also brought colorful rubber charms because I thought they would be perfect for making bracelets and tying hair.

Not only do I have to complete all the tasks I want to complete before I leave, but I also have to get a 'vaccination certificate' that is unique to this day and age, research and obtain the apps I need to travel, passport renewal procedures, early voting for elections...I've forgotten about it. There are so many!

I bought a whiteboard, put it on the wall, and wrote and erased everything I could think of every day.

Tickets that included flight and hotel tickets were not yet on sale, so I read reviews of hotels and inns, checked access on maps, and did as much research as I could to make arrangements.

In the blink of an eye, on the day of departure. Narita Airport was surprisingly empty, most of the DF shops were closed...even Tully's was closed from 1pm to 3pm. The empty airport was so lonely.

Still, I'm happy with everything about the airport, the electronic bulletin board, and the plane! There were no direct flights yet, so I had a layover in Manila, so it took about 9 hours.

Finally arrived in Bali! It was a good thing that we arrived at around 12:00 midnight as planned, but it took a long time to enter the country! ! ! I was also surprised by the gap between Narita Airport and Narita Airport. Not only are immigration procedures complicated, such as submitting vaccination certificates, but there is clearly a shortage of people.

(No photo because the eyes are too white)

Hey, it's not progressing at all. I was able to enter the country around 3 o'clock. I stayed at a hotel inside the airport, but it was limited...(Even though it's an airport hotel, it's really far away!)

The next morning, when I woke up, I was so happy that I was in Bali... The feeling of joy that I felt suddenly washed away yesterday's fatigue and lack of sleep.

Even before I left for this trip to Bali, I had an inner purpose...more than a goal, I had a wish: ``I'll meet artisans who make wonderful things and buy them from them!''

Although I had no specific ideas or connections about what or where, I was determined to spend my time with my antenna up.

Products that convey the spirit of this country and its people, are unique, and are sure to please Amang's customers and can be used every day...

Thus began our 10-day journey.
