「しばらくバリ島で暮らします!」の巻

"I'm going to live in Bali for a while!"

Sorry for the abrupt title that may leave you saying "Huh?!?"!
I'm Kurisawa from AMONG.

My husband and I had been vaguely talking about how we might try living there someday (the image we had of us sipping tea and looking off into the distance, thinking, "That's true, it might be nice to try living there"), but around the early summer of this year it suddenly became a reality.

To be honest, we started this year without any intention of doing that, so we changed our logo and printed a lot of newly designed leaflets (5,000 copies🎵) ^^

See, there's plenty!

Plus, new patterns coming in soon We are also planning to release more. (The motif is "Star Fruit" ★"!) Here, I am drawing a new design. This was in March or April of this year.

It took many twists and turns to come up with the design, and I re-wrote it many times. They will start arriving gradually from this week! I'll be introducing Starfruit textiles in my next blog post, so look forward to it!

↑ This is in Bali. The star fruits rolling along the roadside looked like stars that had fallen from the sky, and were dreamy and cute.

In the midst of all this, I still feel a bit like I've been tricked, thinking, "What, that's too sudden!", but deep down I don't feel any discomfort, and if I put off something I've been thinking about for a long time and miss the opportunity, I'll definitely regret it someday. If I'm going to go, now is the time.

With that feeling in mind, I decided to go for it and really live there with my husband. Due to visa restrictions, we can only stay for a year.

This is what it feels like when "someday" is right in front of you!

I don't think I'll get an opportunity like this very often, so I'm going to put myself in a different time and place than usual, breathe some fresh air, and try living like this.

I first visited Bali in February 2020. It was a time when I was unable to travel a week after returning to Japan. I really recommend this silk rayon stole (this one with a rice pattern ) even in midsummer 🎵 It has also been selected as a return gift for Yokohama City's hometown tax donation ◎

When we were creating a new leaflet, we thought long and hard about the title we came up with, "Changing the world with humor," and we're going to put it into practice. I never thought we'd be able to keep our word in this way!

The departure date is still being adjusted and has not been decided yet, but I think it will be around the first week of October.

Now, what will happen to AMONG in the meantime?

We explored many different possibilities and came to the conclusion that we will continue to operate our online store !

There may be some things that are different from now, but we are doing our best to make sure you can continue to enjoy using our online shop.

Free shipping nationwide until the end of this month! Feel free to order as many times as you like during this period.

I would like to broadcast live updates and share information from time to time on social media such as Instagram , Facebook , and LINE .

Real pop-up events will be suspended for a while. (If you are OK with just providing items, please do so! We would be happy to receive requests. For inquiries, please contact us here .)

I wanted to tell you this earlier, but I just couldn't put it into words, so it's only happening now. I'm sorry!

I would like to take the time to look down on where I am, look up at the stars, and listen to the songs of birds I've never heard before.
I would be delighted to make rich connections with people from various countries and local people, and I hope to take in a lot of information and use it to create even more wonderful output in the future.

A sign at a hotel in Bali. "Whatever it may be, the decision you make will lead to happiness." Very thoughtful!

Here are the real pop-up schedules for this fall.

August 29th (Thursday) - September 4th (Wednesday) Keikyu Department Store Kamiooka 3rd floor
September 4th (Wed) - September 10th (Tue) Yokohama Takashimaya 1F

Please come and visit us at a time that is convenient for you! We are here today thanks to each and every one of you who always look forward to coming to our events. That is truly so... I can't really say thank you enough, but I am always truly grateful.
Both myself and the AMONG team have learned a lot from chatting with people in the store.

The entire team is looking forward to seeing you.

In July, the AMONG team gathered for lunch!
It was hard to find the right timing, but we were able to hold the event for the first time. It was a warm and relaxing time, and I was moved by each of the members' unique characteristics. Thanks to everyone, we have been able to set up shop in various places! Thank you!

My husband and I will continue to work together to convey from the bottom of our hearts that we should try our best with a sense of humor!

At the end of this blog, I would like to express my gratitude to my family for accepting and supporting my unexpected decision to "live in Bali". Anyway, I will take care of myself and go there!

The most useful shoulder bag andhat . Highly recommended.

The journey continues. I hope we can continue to have wonderful times together. Let's go forward! (Hiroko Kurizawa)
