When I visited Bali in February 2024, I first spotted star fruit growing on trees.
Wow, as expected in the tropics! It's natural for them to grow there.
The tall branches are covered with cute dangling fruits that turn yellow when ripe.
On the outside it looks like a large round okra, similar to a cocoa bean, but when cut into pieces it is star-shaped.
I didn't have a knife, so I just took a bite.
The taste is crisp and sour, similar to that of a green apple.
It's light in flavor and has a cute shape, so it's often used in salads.
Just dropped it on the side of the road.
It's like a shooting star fell from the sky! How dreamy.
By the way, a star does not only mean "famous person or popular person" but also "talent or innate destiny."
People in the past used the stars as landmarks to determine their destination, so it also has the meaning of "a destination."
I closed my eyes and a night so pitch black it's hard to imagine it now.
The stars shone in the pitch black darkness, providing encouragement and comfort to the people in the caravan.
Sometimes we move forward steadily, and sometimes we stand still.
I was able to take such beautiful photos even with my iPhone!!
Ah, the same for us living in modern times.
With the star that you were born with, sometimes you move forward and sometimes you stop. Even in the midst of busy days, clear your mind and look for the light of the star that is twinkling deep inside that says, "This is it."
I wished this to myself as I munched on starfruit beneath the vast, spacious sky.
And thus Starfruit Textile was born. When I draw, it's always trial and error.
While thinking about the strangeness of being in Bali again, I bought some star fruit at a local supermarket yesterday. Two of them cost about 100 yen. They're impressive!
Starting again with the stars!
The first color is an exquisite mix of purple, green, and gray. It's a color that's hard to describe in words, but it has an irresistible nuance.
This is a large silk rayon stole .
Colors that relax you gently. In fact, it may be times like these when you can really show off your true potential.
This will be the last shipment of this silk rayon material. I've been buying it for a long time because it feels so nice on the skin, but unfortunately it has been discontinued. I'll think about buying it again in the future!
This is a side pocket tote . It fits A4 size documents well and is easy to use! We've received a lot of feedback about this design.
