We will be holding a POPUP for 2 days in Shimoda City, Shizuoka Prefecture.
9/19 (Sun) - 9/20 (Mon/Holiday) 11:00-15:00 (2625-6 Kisami, Shimoda City, Shizuoka Prefecture)
A place that feels like a second hometown to me (Nakamura)! Pension Ocean Resort Bondi .
My first encounter with this pension was about 20 years ago (20 years ago!!). It all started when I attended a New Year's party hosted by a friend here. At that time, I was just staying with them as a guest, so I had no idea that we would have such a long relationship.
The blue appearance is nice.
At this pension, we also had the opportunity to paint leather. Long wallets , mini wallets , and card cases are made from the painted leather.
A few years after the New Year's party, the mother from the pension came to Tokyo for some business, and we happened to have dinner together.
Mom: “It’s almost Golden Week, but we don’t have enough staff.”
Me: “Eh! Then I’ll do it!”
Immediate decision. early. I just had some free time after I retired from my first job (a shoe company where I worked for about 6 years). I stayed for about a month. I may have only actually worked for about two weeks before and after Golden Week. Help with cleaning, making beds, cooking breakfast and dinner, and serving in the hall. Working at a pension is a test of physical strength! I learned that. It felt good to lay down the sheets.
Shimoda was also the one who decided to create a motif of strata. Nice matching of the strata cotton stole “moment” with the strata in the background!
There are only 2 pieces left of the ``Birth'' Silk Rayon Stole .
The day this photo was taken, the temperature was 38 degrees. The sun was intense and it was extremely hot! ! This is a miraculous photo that doesn't show any heat lol. ``There!'' Let's also bring out the one photo that can't hide the groggy feeling ⬇︎.
Izu's interesting topography, hot springs, cheap, fresh, and delicious fish, vegetables, and fruits, the fact that it's not too cold even in winter, and the beauty of the ocean have made Izu like my second hometown. Ta.
Above all, mom's personality is amazing. She always listens to what people have to say and says, ``Okay!'' ``It's totally fine!'' ``It's okay!'' What's more, or rather, even though it is, I naturally forget it easily (lol). It's exquisitely relaxing.
Even when I suddenly want to stop, they always make a place for me.
The children at the pension who were elementary school students when I met them are now working adults. It feels like we are relatives now.
This is my second son, S, who is now starting his own company. There is an antenna shop on the premises of ``NeedU'' Bondi that sells organic ingredients.
Shimoda has a history of Perry's visits, and perhaps because surfing is popular, it has a bright mixed culture. There are also many stylish cafes.
This is last summer. I got takeout from a cafe called "On The Beach." It was delicious!
Kaneko, who has visited several times, always says, ``It looks like Hachijojima!'' Hachijojima is an island in Tokyo where Kaneko lived for about two years. It seems that Shimoda and Hachijojima were on the same continent a long time ago, so it makes sense that they look similar. It seems that there are connections with Hachijojima and Shimoda.
This is a stall in the sea on Hachijojima . The sea of Shimoda and the sea of Hachijojima are reunited. It was sold out, but the last one was returned from Hachijojima. Here's the last one .
I love this bag because the colors are perfect and easy to match. Spice "arrangement" S tote . There are only a few left.
POPUP will be held on the 1st floor of the pension in the sunroom shown in this photo. It's bright, warm and very comfortable.
If you are in the area, please stop by. If you know anyone, I would be very grateful if you could send me a link to this blog or let me know! !
When entering the pension, please disinfect your hands with alcohol, take your temperature, and wear a mask. We are waiting for you to have enough ventilation.
I would like to do an Instagram live when the timing is right! looking forward to~. (Nakamura)
