バリ島で「木の食器」買い付けるまで!その4

Until I bought “wooden tableware” in Bali! Part 4

The tableware finally arrived in Japan.

It was so sweet of me to say, “Wow, now I can show you this 🎵!” I should have guessed it right away based on my experience with AMONG, but I was too excited (hehe).

The flower-like things at the end of the table are offerings. There were offerings everywhere.

Husband: “Here, don’t you notice the roughness of the wood when you touch it?”

Doki. It's not bad at all, but if you ask me, you're right.

Husband: “Let’s sand it down a bit.”

So, I went to the local home improvement store and bought files of various sizes and types.
I re-wash it with paper and refinish it with coconut oil that I bought in Bali and brought back.

Husband: “Look, it’s totally different! It’s smooth!”

That's right!

If that happens, I have no choice but to take it seriously.
In the end, I sanded and polished each piece one by one (I wrote that in the past tense, but it's still a work in progress).

After dinner, we chatted about the day's events, sometimes standing up to take a bath (wait, now!?) and heading into file time.

Shacoshacoshaco...

The word 'homemade crafts' that appeared in social studies textbooks came to mind.

Shark shark shark shark ...

Ah, I found a B item that was difficult to find.

I would like to lower the price of this kind of product so that people who don't care about it can choose it. Inspection is a must no matter what! As soon as I realized that again...

And shoot.

Unlike AMONG items, the colors and materials are all the same. The level of chaos is quite high. Every time I see an online shop that is well photographed, I really respect it.

When I looked at the photo of just the bowl, I couldn't tell the difference in size at all, and I was so confused as to which one was which!

I took this photo in between breakfast and lunch.
There are a lot of cucumbers... it makes me wonder about the refrigerator situation.

Then we decided on the price and prepared the website .

For HP, there are ways to create a page as one item in AMONG, and there is also a way to create a new one, so what should I do?

As I was thinking about the concept of tableware, I realized that it would be cleaner to create separate brands! I thought.
We share the same desire to create something that will help us live a happy life, and we would be happy if our tableware could convey the breeze of Bali or the power of the local people. AMONG's sister? younger brother? I would be happy if people loved it as a brand◎

I named it [nafas]. It means breath or breathing in Indonesian.

I hope you can relax and use it as if you were taking a deep breath.
We also chose this name with the hope that you can feel the breath of Bali .

The page is currently under construction. If you are from afar, please look forward to it!

I hope to be able to create original items in the future with the craftsmen I had the chance to meet this time (I heard that they are also welcome!).

The garbage problem in Bali is very serious, so I wondered what we could do to help, since we have such a good relationship with this place. That's what I think too.

Teak trees, which originally grew on the island of Java, were transformed into tableware by the craftsmen of Ubud.

Thanks to modern systems, I was able to send money, got on a plane, and came to Japan. Ah, I wonder how the tableware people view Japan for the first time.

Once the person you like chooses it, you can finally start playing an active role.

Once dry, apply a thin layer of olive oil or coconut oil to keep it moist and make scratches less noticeable, allowing you to use it for a long time while enjoying the changes over time.
If you notice any scratches, I would recommend that you gently sand it and finish it with oil.

Because it's made of wood, it's warm and gentle to the touch, and won't break even if you drop it. You can relax and use it every day.

If you have children, you can make them for them.

I hope that rice balls, grilled fish, pears, and mandarin oranges can be served on a plate to accompany the user in every moment of their happy, fun, and delicious daily life. (Nakamura)
